Previously a more off-the-beaten-path destination, in recent years Siquijor Island has become a must-visit tourist spot in the Philippines.
From pristine waterfalls, white sand beaches, and abundant marine life, to healing rituals, enchanted trees, and untamed natural beauty. There is something for every kind of traveler.
However, this small island can seem a little difficult to reach. Siquijor is not an island to be missed so planning your route is imperative to maximise your time.
This post will let you know exactly how to get to Siquijor Island, from Manila, Cebu, Bohol, or Dumaguete.
How to get to Siquijor: Overview

Where is Siquijor Island located?
Famed as a mystical island, Siquijor is located in the Central Visayas region of the Philippines.
This small island could be seen as Bohol’s little brother, sitting southeast of Cebu and Negros Oriental.
Siquijor does not attract as many tourists as its neighbor Bohol, making it the perfect destination to get off the beaten path.
Cebu, Bohol, and Siquijor are all located within close proximity to each other. It makes sense to visit these 3 islands as part of a loop starting and ending in Cebu.
Depending on your itinerary, you can visit Cebu – Siquijor – Bohol or Cebu – Bohol – Siquijor.
What airport to go to Siquijor?
There is a small airport located on Siquijor Island but it is designed for small aircrafts and private chartered planes. This means there are no flights to Siquijor.
However, as of writing this (January 2024), the airport is closed for renovation. Apparently, they are creating a bigger airport to accommodate for increased tourism, so keep an eye out in the coming years.
Currently, the only way to reach Siquijor Island is by ferry.

This is only a rule of thumb, so be sure to check when you’re booking your ferry tickets.
Top Tip: Siquijor Pier is located slightly nearer to the tourist hub San Juan, so I would opt for this if you have the option to.
