Siargao Island is widely known as the surfing capital of the Philippines and its breathtaking waves attract surfers from all over the world.
Undoubtedly, when picturing Siargao, many think of white-sand beaches, surfers, and perhaps the famous Sugba Lagoon.
However, when visiting Siargao, one thing you cannot miss is the amount of coconut trees. They are what make Siargao such a special tropical destination.
Perhaps you’re wondering where’s the best place to appreciate all these palm trees?
Or maybe you’re hoping to snap that picture-perfect shot while cruising down the coconut-fringed roads?
In this post, we will cover everything you need to know to visit both Coconut Road & Coconut Mountain View in Siargao.
Where are Coconut Road & Coconut Mountain View located?
Coconut Road and Coconut Viewdeck are located about 25 minutes from General Luna.
To reach these spots, you can follow the Google Maps locations below. You will take the main road out of General Luna heading towards Dapa.
You will then take a right onto the Siargao Circumferential Road going east up the island. Both Coconut Road and Coconut Mountain View are located on this road.
In general, most of the main Siargao tourist spots can be reached by following this round around the island.
You are bound to pass these two locations unintentionally when visiting other places in Siargao, such as Magpupungko Rock Pools or one of the beautiful beaches towards the north of the island.
Just after driving down Coconut Road, you will reach the Maasin River. The proximity of Coconut Road, Coconut Viewdeck, and Maasin River means they can be visited together as part of a DIY land tour.

How to get around Siargao
The best way to get around Siargao is with a scooter. This gives you so much freedom to explore the whole island.
A scooter will set you back roughly 300 PHP ($5) per day. This is what we paid for one week.
The price ultimately depends on your bargaining skills and how long you would like to rent for – the longer you want the bike for, the cheaper it will be.
If you are not confident on a bike, then you can take a tricycle to these spots. You should pay no more than 400 PHP ($7) for the round trip.
Likewise, if you decide to go on an organised tour, then this will have transport included.
Travel around Siargao like a local and get your bike from a trusted merchant.
Reliable service, a choice of well-maintained bikes, and optional delivery to your accommodation.
Coconut Road
Coconut Road is quite possibly the most photogenic and aesthetically pleasing road on the island. A motorbike ride down this coconut-lined road is one of the best things to do in Siargao.
Whilst there are many coconut-fringed roads across the island, this is certainly the most iconic.
You are bound to drive through Siargao palm tree road when visiting other popular tourist spots further afield.
It is an unbeatable photography spot and even better if you own a drone. Being able to view the countless trees from an aerial perspective is truly spectacular.
Photographers and nature enthusiasts cannot miss a chance to cruise down this stunning Siargao palm tree road.
If you’re lucky enough to drive down the road when there is no one else there, it is a true main-character moment!
How to get to Coconut Road
You are bound to recognise this picturesque road when cruising through it on your way to other Siargao tourist spots.
However, in case you don’t, you can follow the above location called ‘Coconut View v1’ on Google Maps to reach the road.
Visit the main Siargao highlights including the Maasin River, Sugba Lagoon, Magpupungko Rock Pools, and Coconut Viewdeck.
All entrance fees, a private guide, and roundtrip transport to your accommodation included.
Coconut View Deck
Another one of the most iconic tourist attractions in Siargao is the Coconut View Deck. Also known as Coconut Mountain View.
When people say that Siargao is covered in palm trees, this is the best spot on the island to truly appreciate what they mean.
From this extraordinary viewpoint, there are countless coconut trees as far as the eye can see.
As well as giving all the tropical vibes, coconut trees are a way of life for people living in Siargao and a crucial source of income.
To see the vast expanse of them like this was truly breathtaking and photos do not do it justice.
The first time we came, it was pouring down so we couldn’t truly appreciate the landscape. We camped out in the little restaurant behind which sells food and refreshments at a very reasonable price.
As this mountain view is on the main road, you are bound to drive past it when touring the rest of the island.
Luckily, we caught the coconut view deck again on our way back from Pamomoan Beach & Sugba Lagoon at sunset.
This time it was full of people and the atmosphere was very lively. The lighting was beautiful at this time of evening!
How to get to Coconut Mountain View
Follow the Google Maps location above ‘Coconut Trees Viewdeck’.
Keep an eye out for the bikes parked up and people gathering by the side of the road to know when you’re in the right place. Coconut View Deck is not so much a deck, but more a spot on the side of the road.
As with most destinations in the Philippines, the WiFi in Siargao can be a little patchy and unreliable. For a stress-free trip, I would suggest getting a data plan with an Airalo eSIM.
What is Coconut Mountain View?
Coconut Mountain View is exactly the same as Coconut View Deck. The viewing platform is on the side of the road where you can see thousands of palm trees.
What is the famous coconut bent tree in Siargao?
The iconic bent palm tree is one of the most famous coconut trees in the Philippines. It is located just 5 minutes away from Coconut Road and Coconut Viewdeck over the Maasin River.
