FAQs
Do restaurants in Siargao accept credit cards?
As far as I know, all but one of the above-mentioned restaurants accept debit or credit cards. This is typical in Siargao which is mainly cash payments and Gcash.
Although more places are beginning to accept credit cards, most places charge 5-10% extra for this. Your best option is to withdraw money from an ATM and have cash on you.
Need a SIM? When traveling the WiFi can be a little patchy and unreliable. For a stress-free trip, I would recommend getting an Airalo eSIM in advance.
How many days should you spend in Siargao?
I would recommend a minimum of 4 days in Siargao.
During this time, you can take advantage of the island and land activities, including Sugba Lagoon, Pamomoan Beach, and the Maasin River.
If you are not short of time, the best amount of time in Siargao would be a week.
This would give you time for activities but also for enjoying the laid-back vibe, surfing, partying, and trying all the amazing food.

What month is best to visit Siargao?
The best time to visit Siargao is in the dry season, from March to October.
This is peak season in Siargao and you are (almost always) guaranteed a lively atmosphere and beautiful weather, so you can enjoy all the activities the island has to offer.
If you are a keen surfer, then the best time to visit would be August- November, which is the best time of year for catching those waves.
Whilst Siargao is hot all year round, the rainiest months are December and January.
Whenever you decide to visit, this is a tropical island so always expect the unexpected. I visited in April and had some days of heavy rain.

Is Siargao a party island?
Siargao has one of the best nightlife scenes in the Philippines, with bars and live music to start your evening, and DJs and clubs to see you into the night.
If you are looking to party every night, then you will not be disappointed.

This is great if you simply prefer a couple of beers and a sea view – the best of both worlds!
