Are you looking for somewhere scenic to unwind after enjoying the activities Siargao has to offer? Or are you a keen surfer looking to catch some waves?
As many already know, Siargao is home to some of the best surf spots in the Philippines.
However, lesser known is that Siargao also hosts breathtaking white-sand beaches, for those who’d rather catch a tan than a wave.
Whatever you’re into, exploring beautiful beaches is one of the best things to do in Siargao.
Whether you prefer staying close to General Luna or venturing further afield, this post will cover the most beautiful beaches in Siargao.

Top 10 BEST Beaches in Siargao
Siargao is home to some of the most stunning beaches in the Philippines.
However, Siargao Island is unique in that coral reefs entirely surround it. This is why it is perfect for surfing, as the waves break further out from the shore.
The reefs shield the coast from strong currents, meaning that many Siargao beaches have shallow, calm waters and it is only possible to swim or surf during high tide.
To make the most of your experience, be sure to check the tide times in advance here.
Doot Beach – Best Beach Near General Luna
Doot Beach is one of the most stunning white-sand Siargao beaches and offers many amazing activities.
And the best part? It is only a 10-minute drive from General Luna.
Despite its convenient location, Doot Beach does not attract flocks of tourists and has a super peaceful vibe.
This is definitely not a surfing beach due to the lack of waves. It is a good place for a dip but due to the shallowness, the water can get very hot.
The coconut trees offer the perfect shade and there is a little hut selling refreshments. It is the perfect place to unwind after enjoying nightlife in Siargao or a busy day of activities.
Doot Beach is located on a little bit of land that sticks out. It offers views of nearby islands on one side, and a lush mangrove forest on the other.

If you’re someone who bores from beach bumming, there are some amazing activities here too –
- Mangrove kayaking – 200 PHP/hour ($3.50)
- Bio-luminescent plankton boat trip
- One of the best spots for sunset in Siargao
NEED SOMEWHERE TO STAY?
Jing’s Place Homestay – cheapest place to stay for budget backpackers (from $6)
Mao Mao Suf Camp – rustic private bungalows great for couples or small groups (from $50)
Isla Cabanas Resort – best luxury accommodation with infinity pool & private beach (from $150)
How to get to Doot Beach
Take the main road out of General Luna as if heading towards Dapa. After about 5 minutes, instead of continuing on this road, take a left onto Malinao Road.
Follow this winding coconut-lined road all the way around until you reach the end.
The entrance is pretty unassuming and when we arrived there was a sign that said ‘Secret Beach’ which threw us off a little.
You’re in the right place – Doot Beach is also known as Secret Beach to the locals.
Alegria Beach
Alegria Beach is a total hidden gem and undoubtedly one of the most beautiful beaches in Siargao.
Situated in Northeast Siargao, Alegria Beach is well worth the 1.5-hour drive from General Luna.
Crystal-clear water, soft white sand, and only a handful of locals – Alegria Beach is nothing short of paradise.
The shoreline is absent of rocks and has a sandy bottom. If you have been traveling around Siargao for a while, you will know how rare this is.
Alegria Beach is therefore the best place for a swim, as it is possible whether it is high or low tide.
If you’re hungry there is a delicious restaurant on the beach for refreshments but apart from that it is completely secluded.
There are no activities at this beach but if you’re craving peace, quiet, and postcard views, then this is a Siargao beach you cannot miss.
Need a SIM? When traveling the WiFi can be a little patchy and unreliable. For a stress-free trip, I would recommend getting an Airalo eSIM in advance.
Have you packed your Reef Safe 98% Organic Sunscreen?
How to get to Alegria Beach
As if heading to Dapa, take the main road out of General Luna for 20 minutes.
Then take a right onto the Siargao Circumferential Road up the east of the island. Follow this road northward until you reach Alegria Beach at the tip.
Break up your journey by stopping off at some other popular Siargao tourist spots, like Magpupungko Rock Pools or Pacifico Beach.
Need somewhere to stay? Check out 3B Beach Resort in Santa Monica and stay footsteps from the ocean on Alegria Beach.
Cloud 9 Beach – Famous Beach in Siargao
When discussing the best Siargao beaches, Cloud 9 Beach is probably the first to spring to mind.
Cloud 9 has gained international fame for its incredible waves and attracts surfers from all over the world.
Whether you’re a die-hard surfer or just fancy topping up your tan, a trip to Siargao would be incomplete without a walk out onto that long wooden pier.
While it is not the most beautiful beach in the world, it is a great experience to watch all the surfers. You also get some pretty spectacular views at either sunrise or sunset.
To enter the beach, whether as a surfer or lounger, there is a 100 PHP ($1.75) entrance fee. This is valid for 12 hours.
Here, a beginner surf lesson will set you back about 500 – 1000 PHP ($8 – $17) for an hour.
Whilst this is the most famous of the Siargao surf spots, the locals do not recommend this beach for beginners.
I would recommend Secret Beach for beginner surf lessons in Siargao, which you can skip to here.
Have you got your Waterproof Dry Bag? (with Waterproof Phone Case included)
Can you swim at Cloud 9 Beach?
Yes, you can swim at Cloud 9 beach, after paying the 100 PHP entrance fee!
There are lots of surfers further out and the rocks can be sharp, but it is fine for a paddle.
When to surf at Cloud 9 Beach?
The best time to surf at Cloud 9 Beach is during peak surfing season September – November.
This is when the waves are at their highest and most consistent.
Early mornings and late evenings are best, as the swells are bigger due to the off-shore winds. Also try to avoid low tide as the rocks below the shore are very sharp and painful.
The Siargao International Surfing Cup takes place at the beginning of October each year. While this is not a good time for beginners, watching the tournament is an amazing experience.
SHORT ON TIME?
Explore the main Siargao highlights with one of these top-rated tours –
Siargao Land Tour – visit the Maasin River, Magpupungko Rock Pools, Sugba Lagoon, and Coconut Viewdeck ($30)
Tri Island Tour – enjoy a day of island hopping and visit Naked, Guyam, and Daku Island ($25)
Sohoton Cove Tour – swim with stingless jellyfish and explore Sohoton Cove National Park ($48)
Secret Beach (Guiwan Beach) – Best Siargao Surf Spot
Secret Spot Beach, also known as Guiwan Beach, is one of the most scenic beaches in Siargao.
Its mellow waves and calm waters also make this the best Siargao surf spot for beginners.
Secret Beach is located only 20 minutes from General Luna. From the main road, there is a short walk through the palm trees before you reach the beach.
Secret Beach is completely tucked away and secluded, so be sure to bring any water and snacks you might need.
For those who want to soak up the sun and relax, I would recommend coming mid to late afternoon, when the tide is low and the sand exposed.
For the surfers, I would recommend the opposite. Early morning and high tide are best.
Secret Beach is where I took my beginner surf lesson. We came at 9:00 AM and were the only people here, so we didn’t have to share the water or our instructor with anyone else.
The surf lesson was 1000 PHP ($17) for two hours and we booked through Jing’s Place Homestay in General Luna.
How to get to Secret Beach (Guiwan Beach)
This beach can be a little tricky to find, but I can confirm that the Google Maps location is correct.
Heading south from General Luna towards Dapa on Union Road, after about 20 minutes you should see some scooters parked up.
Scooters are not allowed down the path, so park up on the main road and make your way 10 minutes through the palm trees until you reach the beach.

Pacifico Beach
Another one of the best Siargao surf spots, Pacifico Beach is located 1 hour northeast of General Luna.
Some say that this sleepy surf town and beach is what General Luna used to be like 10 years ago before the influx of tourism.
It is a great Siargao beach to explore if you fancy an authentic laidback beach vibe.
The waves are mainly suited to advanced surfers, however depending on where you are on the beach, there are some mellow waves for beginners.
It is also worth staying the night if you can.
Need somewhere to stay? Embrace the authentic laidback surf vibes and stay minutes from the beach with Coleto Siargao.
How to get to Pacifico Beach
Similar to Alegria Beach, take the Siargao Circumferential Road up the east side of the island heading north.
If you are visiting the nearby Tayangban Cave or Magpupungko Rock Pools, just a 20-minute drive further north you will find Pacifico Beach, for a relaxing end to your day.

Magpupungko Beach & Rock Pools
When exploring the best Siargao beaches, you cannot miss Magpupungko Beach & Rock Pools.
This is one of the coolest and most beautiful natural attractions in Siargao.
As well as a white sand beach, these crystal clear tidal pools will take your breath away when exposed during low tide.

The Magpupungko Rock Pools are perfect for thrill seekers and those who get easily bored sunbathing on the beach.
At 3 meters deep, you could spend hours cliff jumping and exploring the hidden caves.
It is easy to see why this is one of the most popular things to do in Siargao.
How much is the entrance fee for Magpupungko Rock Pools?
The entrance fee is 50 PHP ($0.88) for access to both Magpupungko Beach & Rock Pools.
If you come with a scooter, it will be an additional 20 PHP for parking.
How to get to Magpupungko Beach
Take the main road coming out of General Luna as if heading towards Dapa.
After about 20 minutes, turn right onto the Siargao Circumferential Road up the east side of the island.
Follow the road for another 25 minutes until you reach the Magpupungko Beach & Rock Pools. The journey is about 45 minutes in total.
When to visit the Magpupungko Rock Pools?
The rock pools have to be visited at low tide, as this is the only time they are exposed.
In fact, if you arrive at high tide, you will be refused entry as the pools are totally submerged. Therefore, be sure to plan in advance to avoid a wasted journey!
I would advise arriving an hour or so before low tide, so you can take full advantage. You can check out the tide times for the area here.
Pamomoan Beach & Kawhagan Sandbar
Pamomoan Beach is one of the most beautiful white sand beaches in Siargao.
Situated on Caob Island, the same landmass as the popular Sugba Lagoon, Pamomoan Beach requires a boat trip to visit.
However, it is well worth the day trip, as the remoteness of the location combined with the lack of tourists means Pamomoan Beach is totally unspoiled and pristine.
Full Post: Pamomoan Beach & Sugba Lagoon: DIY Guide Siargao
What’s more, a trip to Pamomoan Beach can be combined with a visit to nearby Kawhagan Island, as well as Sugba Lagoon.
The water is the clearest I experienced in the whole of the Philippines and the total absence of rocks/coral makes it perfect for swimming.

Siargao Island Hopping
Above I have detailed the best beaches located on Siargao Island itself.
However, for those happy to venture a little further afield, the surrounding islands are nothing short of paradise.
Powdery white sand, crystal- clear waters, and vibrant coral reefs await you, making these Siargao beaches perfect for relaxing or snorkeling.
I would recommend visiting the below beaches as part of a Siargao Tri-Island Tour.
Naked Island
Naked Island is a powdery white sandbar known for its minimalistic appeal.
You can walk from one side to the other in a matter of minutes and there are not man-made structures or vegetation – hence the name ‘naked’.
However, this simplicity is where the island gets its charm – just pure white sands contrasted against vibrant turquoise waters.
Daku Island
Another one of the most beautiful beaches in Siargao, you cannot miss Daku Island.
‘Daku’ means big in the local dialect, as it is the biggest of the nearby islands. This means more space to sunbathe and relax.
This island is dotted with many native-style huts and is most likely where you will stop for lunch on your Siargao Island Hopping Tour.
Guyam Island
Guyam Island is another tiny island and the nearest to General Luna.
It is a circular shaped island with a stunning grove of palm trees at its center, perfect for relaxing in the shade – it feels like a true tropical paradise.
If you don’t fancy the Siargao Island Hopping Tour, you can easily join a boat in General Luna just heading to Guyam Island, as it is only 5 minutes away.

The best area to stay in Siargao is General Luna.
This is where you will find all of the main restaurants, activities, and buzzing nightlife.

A great place to stay in Siargao for couples or small groups.

Choose between a hotel-like room, cabana, or villa. The most expensive premier option includes sunrise views over the ocean and a private pool.
Prices range from $150 – $400 per night.

How to get around Siargao
The best way to get around the island is by hiring a scooter. This will set you back between 200-400 PHP ($3 – $7) per day.
