Stay22 Review: Is It Worth It For Small Travel Bloggers in 2026?
Considering Stay22 to monetize your small travel blog in 2026?
In this Stay22 review, I’ll be sharing my personal experience using the platform.
I’ll also walk you through how to set it up and reveal my top tips to maximize travel affiliate conversions and turn your blog into a true passive income stream.
If you’ve been travel blogging for more than 5 minutes, you’ll know that the game has changed.
Between the never-ending Google Updates and AI-powered search results, getting readers to click to your website is harder than ever.
This is why a smart affiliate marketing strategy for travel bloggers isn’t just “nice to have” anymore. It’s a survival strategy.
As a small creator who saw my traffic drop by 50% overnight, I’m sharing my honest results after using the platform for nearly a year.
I needed an affiliate system that would work in the background, using smart features to squeeze every possible conversion out of my content.
Keep reading to discover why Stay22 is a fantastic affiliate solution for beginners and small travel bloggers, and why it’s absolutely necessary from day 1 in your blogging journey.
This is a sponsored post, but you can rest assured that all opinions are 100% my own and based on my personal experience using the platform. If you purchase through my affiliate link, I may earn a commission (at no extra cost to you).
What is Stay22?
Stay22 is more than your standard affiliate network. It’s a smart monetization platform powered by AI.
It’s designed for content creators, bloggers, and online publishers in the travel niche who want to earn more from their content, without compromising on user experience.

How does Stay22 work?
The beauty of Stay22 is that it does more than generate affiliate links. It uses AI technology to analyse your readers’ intent and optimize your content for monetization.
Stay22 uses advanced geotargeting. This automatically detects your reader’s location and device to show them tailored booking offers from the brands they already trust (like Booking.com in Europe or Agoda in Asia).
After signing up in their Partner Hub, simply add your unique Let Me Allez (LMA) script into the header code of your website and let it work its magic.
The Let Me Allez (LMA) script is made up of several components, which I will explain below ⬇️
Roam
Roam is the bread and butter of Stay22. Without it, none of the other tools would work.
Depending on your preferences for content monetization (which you can discuss with your affiliate partner), you’ll be given a unique script (aka code) to paste into the header of your website.

You only need to do this once, and this script will continue working behind the scenes as you grow your travel blog.
LinkSwap
LinkSwap automatically turns your existing affiliate links into optimized, high-performing Stay22 ones.
This feature automatically scans your website for broken or outdated links and updates them for you. This not only saves you heaps of time but also increases your earnings in the long run.

While these are the key features of the Let Me Allez (LMA) script, there are also some pretty powerful add-on features too ⬇️
Nova
Nova is a smart, non-intrusive tool that identifies when users are about to leave your site. It then opens a fresh new tab with targeted offers.
By only targeting readers with clear purchasing intent and opening in a new tab, Nova helps you maximise conversions with minimal disruption to the user experience.
Through geotargeting and visitor-tailored recommendations, Nova ensures that the reader is directed to the appropriate booking pages based on their geographical location and preferences.

Spark
Spark is the ultimate time-saving feature of Stay22. It automatically finds missed affiliate opportunities and turns them into high-converting links.
This feature scans your existing content and adds hyperlinks where natural, without changing a word of your writing.
The smart technology ensures that these links are placed strategically for maximum conversion potential, without cluttering the page (Spark adds an average of 2.7 links per blog post).

For example, if you mention the incredible hotel options in Barcelona, without directly linking to a specific hotel, Spark would add a hyperlink that sends the reader to a tailored booking page.
If you’re a travel blogger with many existing posts, this tool will save you so much time and ensure that any hidden booking opportunities have been optimized.
Interactive Maps
This is the standout product of this Stay22 review, and my personal favorite.
Stay22 uses mobile-responsive, interactive maps that can be embedded anywhere into your travel content. They show live accommodation options based on the reader’s location.
Allowing readers to visualize rates and location is a fantastic way to boost conversions and user experience. I use these interactive maps in the “where to stay” section of every post.
It will look like this ⬇️
How to set up Stay22
I’ll go ahead and put it out there. Setting up the Stay22 script on my website is one of the easiest things I’ve done on my travel blogging journey.
Anything to do with code lowkey terrifies me, and I put off installing the script for a long time (stupidly, leaving lots of lost revenue on the table).

Your affiliate partner will walk you through the stages step by step, and I’ll do the same below ⬇️
Step 1: Sign up for Stay22 in the Partner Hub
Simply head to the Stay22 website and create your account.
You’ll be asked to add your information, as well as your website URL.
Once you’ve made your account, you’ll receive an email with instructions to install your LMA script. Or, simply head to your newly-created hub and select the “Script Builder” tab.

The best part of Stay22 is that there are no minimum traffic requirements. You can start to monetize your small travel blog right away.
Step 2: Install the LMA Script
To create your unique LMA script, you can follow the link sent to you via email.
This will take you to your Stay22 dashboard. Here, you can copy the LMA script, ready to paste into your website’s header.
Step 3: Paste the code into your header
This is the “technical” part that I was most concerned about, but it really is super straightforward.
I’m certainly not a developer. If you’re anything like me and don’t want to mess around with your website’s code, you can simply install the WP Header & Footer free plugin.
Open the plugin and paste the code into the Header section of your website. It should look like this ⬇️

Once saved, after about 5 minutes, I received an email confirmation letting me know that my script was successfully up and running, ready to start making passive income right away.

Step 3: Customize your features
On your Stay22 dashboard, you’ll be able to see your installed script. You can also see which features are enabled (such as LinkSwap, Spark, and Nova).
If you want to customize this or exclude any features, you can reach out to your affiliate partner directly via email.
In my experience, the human-first support and direct contact with your affiliate partner is what truly sets Stay22 apart. They’ve always responded to me within 48 hours.
My Experience: My Honest Stay22 Review
For the first couple of years of my travel blogging journey, I’m a little ashamed to admit that I ignored Stay22 entirely.
I was already using Travelpayouts, and I was under the (very incorrect) impression that they offered more or less the same thing.
Oh, and how wrong I was.

Travelpayouts is an affiliate network that lets you sign up to individual programs. Stay22 is an AI technology that actually makes those programs convert.
It’s also the specialist for accommodation. It’s innovative features make affiliate marketing for travel bloggers with low traffic super straightforward.
When I finally decided to try it, the ease of setup and (pretty much) instant conversions blew me away. And made me feel a little stupid for putting it off for so long.
There was no tedious, manual link switching. I simply added the code to my website and let it run. Within 24 hours, I’d already made my first booking.

The commission for my first-ever booking was $2.94. For such minimal effort in setting it up, I was over the moon with this.
The Reality Check: Affiliate Marketing for Beginners & Small Travel Bloggers
In this Stay22 review, it’s important to me to be totally transparent.
In my first month of using Stay22, I made $109.00.
For something that took me barely 5 minutes to set up, I thought that this was fantastic.

However, like many bloggers, the following month I was hit by a dreaded Google Update. My traffic dropped from 15k+ monthly views to barely 8k.
Just as I felt like I was beginning to gain momentum with Stay22, when your traffic declines, your affiliate earnings tend to follow.
My traffic never returned to what it used to be, and unfortunately, while focusing on growing my social media this year, my blog has taken a back seat for a while.

This means that in the last 8 months of having the script installed on my website, I’ve made just over $400.00 in total.
But wait – why am I telling you this?
Because it’s important to be realistic about my niche. Small Girl Big Backpack is a budget travel blog, and most of my hotel or hostel recommendations are under $30 per night.
Because my niche isn’t “optimized” for high-ticket commissions, my earnings are naturally lower. This is a reality I am prepared for with budget travel blogging.

However, this is exactly why I’ve kept Stay22. And why it is such an important affiliate program for beginners and small travel bloggers.
When you have low traffic and low-ticket commissions, you need a good affiliate strategy. You need every single click to count.
Stay22’s geotargeting and Nova tool ensure that even with my 8k visitors, I am squeezing every possible cent out of my content.
It’s the perfect “set it and forget it” solution.
Even if you aren’t going to make thousands in monthly commissions, the 5-minute setup makes it a no-brainer to have running in the background.
It turns your pre-existing content into a reliable passive income stream, with very minimal effort, so you can continue living your life (or crying about Google updates).

Stay22 vs Travelpayouts vs Direct Affiliates
When you first start travel blogging, I know how overwhelming it can feel trying to decipher the different affiliate networks and work out which ones to prioritize.
However, the beauty of affiliate marketing for beginners is that these networks don’t work against each other. If used strategically, they work together pretty harmoniously to optimize your earnings.
After travel blogging for nearly 3 years, I have the benefit of hindsight. If I had to start my blog again from zero, this is the exact strategy I’d follow ⬇️
Stay22: The First Step for Accommodation
If you’re wondering how to start affiliate marketing for beginners, installing the Stay22 script would be my first step.
It takes minutes to set up, doesn’t have any minimum traffic requirements, and can start working passively in the background for you from day 1.
In addition to installing the script, I’d also add Stay22’s interactive maps to my best-performing blog posts to maximize conversion potential.
With Stay22 running passively in the background and taking care of your accommodation links, you can focus on writing content and refining your broader affiliate strategy.
Travelpayouts: The Second Step for Tours, Transport & Services
Travelpayouts (TP) was my first introduction to affiliate marketing for travel bloggers. I’ve used it since day 1, for everything from hotels and tours to transport and services.
However, I’ll be honest with you. It wasn’t until I started writing this guide that I realised that my Stay22 and Travelpayouts features may be conflicting on my website.
Travelpayout’s new AI-powered Drive feature works in a very similar way to that of Stay22, with link switching and automatic pop-ups.
I recently reached out to my Stay22 affiliate partner with my concerns. They advised me to disable link switching for accommodation within Travelpayouts.
It should look like this ⬇️

They also recommended turning off TP’s Booking Booster to avoid clashes and ensure Stay22’s Nova feature can run.
Simply toggle off “Show Targeted Offers” in the settings like this ⬇️

So, what would I recommend to you? Disable TP’s AI features for accommodation in your dashboard.
Let Stay22 handle hostels and hotels, and let Travelpayouts monetize everything else.
Now that I’ve made this change on my website, I’ll be tracking conversions over the next month. I will update this Stay22 review accordingly.
Direct Affiliates: The Final Step
Generally, I don’t use direct affiliate networks much (signing up with the travel company directly).
I find direct affiliate networks to be lots of effort, with minimal returns based on the amount of time spent manually adding links and tracking conversions.
While the commission may be higher, as you cut out the “middleman”, there are higher withdrawal thresholds too.
For a small travel blogger with low traffic, the time spent on direct affiliates simply isn’t worth it for me.
That said, if there is a particular service you recommend a lot on your travel blog, signing up to their direct affiliate program is a good way to “fill the holes” in your affiliate strategy.
For example, I’m signed up with the Skyscanner direct affiliate network. This is a service I recommend in nearly every single blog post, and it’s not covered by Stay22 or TP.

Stay22 Pros & Cons
Based on my personal experience using Stay22, here are some of the things I love about it, and others not so much.
Pros of Stay22
- Ease of setup: Once you’ve signed up in the Partner Hub and have installed your LMA script, Stay22 is up and running within 5 minutes. There’s no confusing code, and you can start earning from previous posts right away.
- Massive time saver: Stay22 is a truly passive income solution for travel bloggers. By automatically turning URLs into affiliate links and fixing “broken” or outdated links, you can spend more time creating.
- Incredible partner support: This is where Stay22 truly shines. Once you’ve signed up, you’ll be assigned an “affiliate partner” via email who will walk you through everything. Whenever I’ve had any queries, they’ve always replied within 48 hours.
- AI evolution: Stay22 is constantly reviewing and updating its features to keep up with the latest AI advancements. As you grow, you can be confident that Stay22 is always evolving and improving too.
- No minimum traffic requirements: This makes Stay22 the perfect first step in your affiliate strategy for travel bloggers. You can sign up and start earning from day 1.
Cons of Stay22
- Basic dashboard: Compared to TP, I’ve always found the Stay22 dashboard a little basic. While it’s easy to see your top-performing posts, it’s limited when trying to track the performance of individual features (like Nova or Spark).
- Higher cancellation rates: I’ve noticed more cancellations with Stay22 compared to TP. However, this is the nature of accommodation marketing. The “free cancellation” policy with many hotels is not the fault of Stay22.
- Non-transparent commission rates: Unlike TP, which tells you what percentage of commission you’ll earn from each program, Stay22 is not as transparent with its commission.
